When I first heard this I was flabbergasted. I can only describe this as
some sort of jazzed-up country tune with a whisp of Gipsy, or Romany or
whatever you guys call it. And it's fast, with a tight *boom* *chic*
stroke. Is this making any sense? I'm sure that what I'm submitting here
is incredibly oversimplified and/or incomplete cause I'm doing this from
memory, so if anyone can do a more accurate tab, by all means, do it.
Anyway, it like, kicks butt. It's on Randy Travis' 'Forever and Ever' (I
think) but I doubt he wrote this himself. I *love* it! I wish I knew
what this style is called, so I could look for more stuff like it. Anyone
who's familliar with it, please help me out here. What the **** do I know
anyway, I'm dutch and not even supposed to like country music :-) Send all
your comments 'n stuff to tgtchb@chem.tue.nl, or to the news letter.
Regards, Bo.
Too Gone, Too Long - Randy Travis

You've been too gone, too long,
E7
it's too late to come back now

It's been so long since you walked out my door
E7 A7
now you're just an old song nobody sings anymore

I gotta a new love and she's the true love
D F#7
but darlin' how could you have known?
B7 E7
Cause you've been too gone, for too long
A7 D
now it's too late to come back home
You've been a long way, goin' the wrong way
don't even set your suitcase down
You wanted to roam, now you're paying the bills
you're an old rollin' stone who ran over the hills
I had a good cry when you said 'Goodbye'
I didn't wanna let you go
but you've been too gone for too long
now it's too late to come back home
I had a good cry when you said 'Goodbye'
I didn't wanna let you go
but you've been too gone for too long
so why don't you just stay gone?
you've been too gone for too long
now it's too late to come back home
