Hey there; been a while. Here's a terrific Sparklehorse tune for you, that I can't
believe hasn't been tabbed yet. The song itself is recorded on a slightly overdriven /
compressed acoustic guitar, but you can strum this out cleanly and it still sounds wonderful:
Intro:EGDAm
Every other A-Minor chord, Mark does a little riff like this:
e|----------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-------0h1--0---------------------------------------------------------|
G|-----2--------2-0-----------------------------------------------------|
D|----------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|--0-------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------------------------------------|
Verse:EG
Once I was a big old bear
DAm
Reigning blows on sparkly snares
EG
In the woods after the snow
DAm
The white noise witch her hammers cold
EG
Rest beneath the pine and rose
GD
In our suits and Sunday clothes
CGCD
Cheer up my brother
CGCD
It's gonna be al-right
All the instruments cut out, save for this guitar riff:
e|-----------3----------------------------------------------------------|
B|-------0--------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-----4---3------------------------------------------------------------|
D|----------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|----------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------------------------------------|
AmGD
We're gonna go back home one day
Verse - Chorus - Verse - Fuzz/Tinkle out...
There are a few flourishes on the guitar, some lazy hammer-ons here and
there. They aren't hard to pick up. Make it your own, it's a beautiful song.
Thanks for reading!
