A capo placed on the 2nd fret
Strumming pattern: I use D-D-U-U-D
If you listen to the song he quite often builds up from a Em to a G chord.
So if you want to add that part, well he does is the following on your lowest E-string.
E:|0-2-3 and then play the G-chord.
Feel free to correct me, send me a pm or leave a msg in the comments section and
I'll try to fix the wrong part(s). I know the chordsplacements aren't 100%
accurate, but I've done it by ear from the way I remember the song, so bare with me. ;)
Intro:G-B7-Em-C-G-B7-EmGB7EmC
Well I used to walk along the opposite side of the road
GB7Em
and made others get out of my way
GB7EmC
I used to think that I could sit and wait for the times
GB7Em
but I know I should meet them halfway
EmCGB7
I'm halfway home and I'm on my own
EmCGB7
I'm halfway there and I don't care, I don't mind
EmCGB7
I plan to leave here after supper time, that's when traffic is light, all I
EmCGB7Em
need is a sign and I'll be alright. I'll be fine
GB7EmC
Well I used to think that i could just sleep and then I would dream
GB7Em
And everything it would just come to me
GB7EmC
Until I woke one day without anything to eat
GB7Em
Lying on the opposite side of the street
EmCGB7
I'm halfway home and I'm still out on my own
EmCGB7
I'm halfway there and I don't care, I don't mind
EmCG
Because it ain't my time not to stay or say
B7EmCG
Well I can't say, but you can bet that i will play my heart out
B7
I'll won't lay.
GB7EmC
I used to think that I could just sit and wait for the times
GB7Em
But I know I gotta meet them halfway
EmCGB7
I'm halfway home I tried running with the flow
EmCGB7
I'm halfway there. Ain't it funny how everybody seems to care
EmCG
I planned to get there around supper time their serving up bread and wine
B7EmCG
All I needed was a sign and I guess I'll be alright.
EmCGB7
I'll be fine, I'll be fine, I'll be alright, I'll be alright.
EmCGB7
It seems to be a running theme about being fine and alright but I don't mind.
EmCGB7
